Miami-Dade Commissioners have approved a special district to finance $149 million in infrastructure for the redevelopment of the Shops at Sunset Place, a long-fading mall that once stood as a South Miami hotspot.
Members of the panel voted unanimously and without discussion for the measure (5L) by Commissioner Raquel Regalado, which creates the Downtown SoMi Community Development District (CDD).
