Ten hospitalized, including BSO deputy, after four-vehicle crash on Sunrise Boulevard near Fort Lauderdale

Ten people were hospitalized, including a Broward Sheriff’s deputy, after a four-car crash late Saturday morning near Fort Lauderdale, officials said.

Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue responded to the crash in the 2700 block of Sunrise Boulevard around 10:47 a.m., according to Battalion Chief Michael Kane. Paramedics transported 10 people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident involved four vehicles, one of which was a Broward Sheriff’s Office unit. The deputy was among those hospitalized, according to BSO spokesperson Miranda Grossman.

The intersection of 27th Avenue and Sunrise Boulevard is shut down while deputies investigate, Grossman said.
