Liberty City, Miami – Two brothers answered their sister’s call for help amid a troubled relationship marked by domestic violence, only to meet a violent end at the hands of her boyfriend. Antwan Carter, 31, allegedly gunned down Gianni Pierre, 28, and Jaheim Pierre, 23, inside her apartment on May 2, turning a protective intervention into a double homicide.[1][2] Police reports detailed how the midday dispute escalated rapidly, leaving the family shattered and Carter in custody.
A Desperate Rush to Safeguard Family
The Pierre brothers arrived at the apartment on the 5300 block of Northwest 17th Avenue driven by longstanding concerns. Their sister, in a four-year relationship with Carter, had endured a history of domestic abuse, records showed. Fearing for her safety, Gianni and Jaheim stepped in to check on her welfare.[3][4]
Tensions ignited almost immediately. An argument erupted between Jaheim and his sister, with Carter interrupting. What began as words quickly turned physical when Jaheim struck Carter, drawing Gianni into the fray. The girlfriend briefly left the scene to summon help, but the confrontation had already set a dangerous course.[1]
Carter Leaves – Then Returns Armed
Carter exited the apartment during the scuffle, heading to his black sedan parked outside. Surveillance footage captured him retrieving an object – later identified as a 9mm Glock 43 handgun – and slipping it into his pocket.[4] He approached the locked door, pounding on it while shouting provocations: “Open up, open up, you soft a** n***s. I bet one of you won’t open up.”[1]…
