Toa Satele, the 6-3, 200 linebacker from Mililani High School, was so impressed with his Oregon official visit that he committed right after, turning down visits to California, Notre Dame and Texas. He eliminated USC back in May.
The No. 4 linebacker in the country and the No. 1 recruit in the state of Hawaii, his fast decision shows the power of Oregon’s recruiting operation. Satele told On3 Sports, “When you know you know, and I didn’t want to waste anyone’s time.”
He had official visits planned to Berkeley, South Bend and Austin, but the plan and the proposal at Oregon negated them.
