WAHIAWA, Hawaii (Island News) — The Hawaii Department of Health has issued two notices of violation and ordered a Wahiawa hemp retailer to pay a total of $13,000 in administrative fines after the business allegedly refused to allow state inspectors into the store.
According to the Hawaii Department of Health’s (DOH) Office of Medical Cannabis Control and Regulation (OMCCR), Island Smoke and Vape, located at 505 Avocado St. in Wahiawa, denied inspectors access during two separate inspection attempts.
DOH said inspectors first visited the business on July 28, 2026 after receiving a complaint alleging the sale of prohibited hemp products.
