HONOLULU (KHON2) – This unsettled pattern will continue through Tuesday due to a combination of factors.
A weak surface trough just west of Kauai will gradually approach and edge over Kauai tonight into tomorrow, providing more moisture and a focus for more shower development. The airmass over the western half of the state already has plenty of moisture.
Adding to all of that, an approaching upper level trough will dive south towards the state today, close off into a low, and move down the island chain over the next couple of days…
