Flood damage threatens Pearl City church’s summer camp for at risk youth

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A Pearl City church says devastating flood damage from last month’s Kona lows may force leaders to cancel a long-running summer camp serving children with incarcerated parents.

Agape Christian Fellowship Oahu hosts Camp Agape each year, a free program designed to support youth affected by parental incarceration. Church leaders say flooding from the nearby Waiawa Stream destroyed critical equipment used to operate the camp.
