HONOLULU (KHON2) – Vacancies at state positions have been a nuisance for the local government. Hawaii Senator Brandon Elefante tells us the state has an average vacancy of about 24% across all state departments and agencies.
“That’s one out of every four people – there is a vacant position. And part of that is we’re looking to actively recruit, and these are positions that we do need to fill,” Elefante said.
