HPD Chief Candidate Scott Ebner outlines priorities as decision nears

HONOLULU (Island News) — It’s a busy week for the three finalists vying to become the next chief of the Honolulu Police Department (HPD), with a final decision expected next week.

The Honolulu Police Commission is set to meet next week to select the department’s next leader, as candidates make their final push.

One of those finalists, Scott Ebner, sat down with Island News to discuss his vision for the department. Ebner spent nearly 27 years with the New Jersey State Police, ascending to Lieutenant Colonel and Deputy Superintendent.

He was a finalist in 2022 when Chief Joe Logan was ultimately picked and four years later he is a finalist again…
