Pearl Harbor to host free Memorial Day weekend events

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Pacific Historic Parks is inviting the public to Pearl Harbor for a Memorial Day weekend of remembrance honoring U.S. service members who died in military service.

The free events, running May 23 through Memorial Day (May 25), will include ranger-led tours, outdoor movie screenings and a live underwater dive of the USS Arizona.

Officials said National Park Service divers and Wounded Warrior Project divers will livestream the underwater exploration on Memorial Day, sharing historical insight into the battleship and the 1,177 crew members killed in the Dec. 7, 1941 attack…
