HOUSTON — Despite repeated warnings from law enforcement, many people parked along the side of Interstate 45 North in downtown Houston Saturday night to watch Fourth of July fireworks, creating dangerous conditions for both spectators and drivers.
Reporter Anayeli Ruiz saw dozens of vehicles stopped along the freeway as people searched for a view of the fireworks. Law enforcement officers were seen in the area telling people that stopping on the freeway to watch the display is against the law and urged them to move.
Some people were seen opening car doors into traffic, climbing out of their vehicles and placing children on rooftops and along the side of the freeway to watch the show. The stopped traffic also blocked freeway exits…
