Houston is proposing to spend $91,162,035 in federal disaster recovery funds to install advanced power backup and renewable energy systems at 22 city-owned facilities across the city.
The city’s public notice identifies the funding as Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery 2024 (CDBG-DR24) dollars, channeled through the Housing and Community Development Department to the General Services Department via a proposed Letter of Agreement.
The 22 sites span the city and include fire stations, police substations, libraries, and community centers.
