Flood Watch Remains Across Most of Southeast Texas as Heavy Rain Moves Off the Coast and Storms Fade by Midnight

HOUSTON, TX — Severe weather across Southeast Texas eased late Friday as the strongest storms moved away and Houston shifted to light rain.

Officials said the last heavy band was tracking over Matagorda and southern Fort Bend counties, with Brazoria and Galveston counties next in line.

By around 7 p.m., Houston was seeing mostly light rain.

Lightning and thunder had largely ended, but roads stayed wet and slick.
