THREE RIVERS, Texas — A Houston man will serve an additional two years in federal prison after admitting he assaulted a correctional officer at the Federal Correctional Institution in Three Rivers.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 27-year-old Melvin Jones was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty in April to forcibly assaulting a federal correctional officer.
U.S. District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos ordered Jones to serve two years in federal prison, consecutive to the sentence he is already serving. He will also serve two years of supervised release after completing his prison term…
