Almost four months after a Houston man was shot and killed inside a Metairie apartment, a Jefferson Parish grand jury indicted his accused killer on murder charges.
Shaquille Lemay, 23, of New Orleans, was charged Thursday with second-degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Jaden Brown, court records said.
Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested Lemay shortly after the April 17 shooting, which was reported at Crossings apartment complex in the 2300 block of Severn Avenue in Metairie.
Neither Lemay nor Brown lived at the apartment where the shooting took place, according to homicide detective Darvelle Carter, who testified about the investigation during a preliminary hearing in Jefferson Parish magistrate court in May.
