MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Four men accused of trafficking firearms at a hotel on Lamar Avenue were sentenced to federal prison, U.S. Attorney D. Michael Dunavant’s office announced Friday.
As part of Operation “Back to Business,” agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives determined the men were selling firearms from the parking lot of the Economy Inn at 3869 Lamar.
The hotel was shut down as a public nuisance in November 2024 by the Memphis Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit, after reports of drug sales, homicides and gang activity.
