HPD data reveals the top 10 Houston zip codes for stolen tires and car parts

In Houston, waking up to find your car sitting on blocks after thieves stole its tires is an all-too-familiar experience. And in some neighborhoods, it happens far too often, according to city records obtained by Chron.

Records obtained through a public records request show the Houston Police Department (HPD) logged 1,252 incidents included in a data set involving stolen tires, wheels and rims between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2026.
