WEST PALM BEACH, Florida — Houston native Regan Hutsell has been crowned Miss America 2027, while Louisiana’s Shelby Bordelon finished as first runner-up in a memorable night for both contestants.
Hutsell, representing Texas, said she was in “absolute shock” after being crowned. The former Radio City Rockette and Birmingham Royal Ballet dancer now hopes to use her platform to inspire people across the country to pursue their dreams, even when they seem out of reach.
“I’m a firm believer that anybody can accomplish anything that they want to. As Miss America, I hope to inspire that in as many people as possible,” Hutsell said.
While Bordelon did not take home the crown, her first runner-up finish marked one of the strongest showings by a Louisiana contestant in recent years.
