Five Houston-area school districts are asking voters for a combined $137 million in new revenue this November to shore up multi-million dollar budget deficits driven by declining enrollment, inflation and rising insurance costs.
Voters in Cy-Fair, Channelview, Huffman, La Porte and Spring ISDs can expect to see a voter-approved tax-rate increase, or VATRE, measure on the Nov. 3 ballot.
