It’s always a bit weird walking into a restaurant I’ve previously panned for one reason or another, and I wasn’t sure I’d be welcomed. This particular critique was a doozy: I told readers last spring that the Houston-born chain’s massively popular 79-cent Friday pork chop special wasn’t worth the price. Note to self: Be prepared for backlash when you’re the new critic only three months into a job that requires you to share your opinions.
