Former CW39 Houston anchor Sharron Melton is returning to the news business, this time with an AI-generated version of herself.
On Friday, more than two months after leaving the station, Melton announced the launch of Vocal Wish News, a weekday morning newscast debuting 6 a.m. Nov. 9.
“It’s my voice. It’s me, all of it, and there’s a little AI component that’s attached to it,” Melton said in a video announcement.
According to the Vocal Wish News website, the program will feature Melton’s AI-generated likeness clearly labeled, with sources displayed on screen so viewers can verify the reporting. Episodes will be available on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok…
