Texas Crust Pizza Franchisee Files for Chapter 11 Protection, and Five Guys Employees Get $1.5M in Cash Bonuses

A Texas-based Crust Pizza franchisee filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to reorganize its two restaurant locations. The Spring, Texas-based franchisees, John and Amy Reno, operate Crust Pizza locations in Magnolia, Texas, and the Houston Heights neighborhood.

AJ Reno Enterprises, which does business as Crust Pizza Magnolia, and Swing Zone, which does business as Crust Pizza Heights, filed Chapter 11 petitions under Subchapter V on March 27 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas in Houston. This type of filing typically makes it faster and much less expensive to reorganize under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
