Suspect uses fake ID to steal nearly $10,000, now in custody

HOUSTON, Texas — A woman was arrested after allegedly using a fake ID to withdraw nearly $10,000 from a bank account, according to authorities.

On April 22, 2026, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a report of fraudulent use of identification in the 3800 block of Atascocita Rd. Upon arrival, they discovered that a female suspect had used a Texas Driver License with her photo but another person’s name to withdraw approximately $9,980 from a victim’s bank account.

The suspect was identified as Maygan Cooper. A warrant check revealed Cooper had an active warrant out of Ellis County for larceny, and a criminal history check showed prior theft-related convictions…
