HOUSTON — The Houston Zoo is elevating animal health care for its senior animals. It’s doing that with a brand new CT scanner.
One of the first patients to use it — a 21-year-old green anaconda named Florence, that stretches more than 13 feet long. Florence is the third largest snake at the zoo.
Because of Florence’s size, the care team had to get a little creative to get her to fit. But once inside the scanner, they were able to give her a routine senior wellness exam. The results — Florence is in excellent condition for her age…
