A suspected DUI driver was arrested, two women were hospitalized and several residents were apparently displaced after a crash that left a Long Beach home badly damaged and uninhabitable.
Police and firefighters responded to reports of the crash at a home near East Bort Street and Long Beach Boulevard just before 2 p.m., according to photojournalists with the video news-gathering service O.C. Hawk.
Details were limited, and the circumstances leading up to the crash remained unclear. Preliminary information suggests the driver lost control of the vehicle and drove through a fence into the home, causing significant damage.
