Prolonged SoCal heat wave continues as records fall

LOS ANGELES — A brutal October heat wave continued across the Southland Sunday, with more triple-digit heat in the forecast for the next few days after some temperature records fell Saturday.

Fairly widespread highs in the 90s to low 100s were expected again Sunday and Monday for the valleys and even many coastal areas, and more records could be broken Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs are forecast to be 15 to 27 degrees above normal for this time of year, with unusually high overnight lows making things even worse…
