Rain chances are once again in the forecast today, but tomorrow poses a greater threat for thunderstorm activity. The main hazards will be damaging winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall.
Today will start off mostly dry, with warm and muggy conditions. Temperatures are already in the 80s for some locations. By late afternoon and evening, rain chances will begin to increase and continue through the overnight hours. High temperatures will reach the mid-80s.
Monday will once again start off dry, but by lunchtime, a line of showers and storms will begin to approach the Shoals and continue pushing through the Tennessee Valley during the early afternoon hours. A Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) is in place for the entire Tennessee Valley, as some of these storms could produce damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and frequent lightning. However, the tornado threat remains very low. Another round of rain is possible around dinnertime, but it is not expected to pose a severe weather threat…
