Huntsville’s historic Cigar Box Guitar Festival wraps up with Orion Amphitheater grand finale

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A weekend-long celebration of music, creativity, and community is coming to an unforgettable close today as the world’s longest-running Cigar Box Guitar Festival takes over The Orion Amphitheater for its grand finale.

After two days of packed workshops, builder seminars, and live performances at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, Sunday’s events shifted to The Orion to maximize community impact and honor a local blues legend.

The festivities kicked off at 2 p.m. with a free, weather-protected Vintage & Vinyl Market. Music lovers and local shoppers browsed more than 40 vendors selling everything from rare vinyl records and handmade goods to local art. The family-friendly afternoon also featured local food trucks and hands-on children’s activities where kids could build and recycle their own instruments before jamming alongside a live band.

A Labor of Love for Local Classrooms
