Two Alabama students headed to national theater awards in NYC

Two Alabama high school students will represent the state at a national musical theater competition in New York City for the first time.

The Broadway Theatre League of Huntsville announced Linda Mathis from Lee High School and Lucas McMinemon from Hartselle High School earned spots at the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, also known as the Jimmy Awards. The students advanced after performing in school musicals and competing through The Tallulah Awards, hosted by the league.
