DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — A Huntsville man accused in a deadly 2023 incident at Flint Creek has pleaded guilty to murder, according to court documents.
Court records state that Ismael Tariq Smith received a 20-year sentence, but the punishment will be served as a split sentence. Under the order, Smith will serve two years in the Alabama Department of Corrections, followed by one year with Morgan County Community Corrections while wearing an ankle monitor.
