Heritage Plantation HOA says USDA captured 550 geese in overnight cull

MADISON, Ala. (WAFF) – Heritage Plantation HOA leaders say the USDA captured 550 geese from HOA property Tuesday night as part of a planned cull to address what they call an extreme overpopulation.

In a statement, the HOA board said the cull was originally scheduled for June 23, but the board and its Waterfowl Committee asked the USDA to delay any action while pending litigation was heard in court.

The board said once a request for an injunction was denied and the case against the HOA was dismissed, the USDA was notified and worked to reschedule…
