Army lieutenant colonel retires after 22 years, chooses Huntsville as home

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A U.S. Army lieutenant colonel arrived in Huntsville Thursday to begin his post-military life after more than two decades of service.

Oscar Thompson spent 22 years in the Army, with assignments in the Middle East, Korea, and various parts of the United States. His final assignment was in Hawaii before he landed in Huntsville Thursday morning.
