MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) – Madison County School District leaders cut the ribbon Friday on Sparkman Intermediate School, the first new school built in the county in more than a decade.
The school will serve hundreds of 4th through 6th grade students in the north Madison County area. It is the first new school in the district since Madison County Elementary and Moores Mill Intermediate were built.
Relieving overcrowding
Sparkman Intermediate is expected to alleviate crowding at Harvest Elementary, Madison Crossroads Elementary and Sparkman Middle School.
County and state representatives joined district leaders at the school Friday morning to mark the opening.
