HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Independent, a cinema lounge at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, announced Monday it will close after its lease ends, with a final day of operation set for Sept. 12.
The cinema’s owners said in a social media post that low ticket sales made it impossible for the venue to continue financially, despite an outpouring of community support since it opened.
