Democratic nominee Doug Jones pledged to help Huntsville build up its infrastructure to meet the needs of its growing economy during his town hall Wednesday night at Campus 805.
He also doubled down on his pledge to expand Medicaid, support for an education lottery and a call for a moratorium on data centers in response to questions from residents attending the town hall. Several hundred residents were in attendance.
“We want to help wherever we can,” Jones said of dealing with Huntsville’s growth. “That’s going to be one of those things that’s going to be a challenge. It was a challenge when Mazda Toyota came. It will be a challenge with Space Command. … But in my talks with Mayor (Tommy) Battle and the chamber of commerce through the years, I think there are plans in place. What they need in Montgomery is a partner, and I will be their partner.”…
