HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A Huntsville woman indicted on first-degree theft charges for allegedly stealing $73,000 from a local youth sports league remains employed by the city, with taxpayers continuing to fund her salary.
City leaders confirmed that Heather Spier works in the city’s landscape management department. Spier was indicted in 2024 on first-degree theft charges after investigators said she embezzled $73,000 from the Huntsville Eastern League, a youth sports league that receives stipends from the city.
