Auburn opening nation’s first university-led space electronics testing facility in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Auburn University is expanding its Huntsville footprint with a new laboratory featuring the nation’s first university-led space electronics testing facility.

A grand opening for the 50,000-square-foot facility will be on Aug. 18 at Cummings Research Park. Auburn University President Christopher Roberts and Mayor Tommy Battle will be there, joined by numerous Alabama lawmakers and federal officials.

More information about the facility will be revealed then. In the meantime, Auburn says this new laboratory represents a “major increase in momentum that has been building through national security, space, advanced manufacturing and applied research partnerships for years.”…
