HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – The access road intersection below the Memorial Parkway overpass between Drake Avenue and Airport Road will become a full signalized intersection, Huntsville city officials announced on Thursday.
The area is commonly known as “Useless Overpass.” The changes will not affect Memorial Parkway traffic on the mainline, but lane closures are expected for motorists using the service road near the construction zone.
Huntsville entered a construction contract with Rogers Group for the intersection improvements. The project will include a new signalized intersection with turn lanes designed to provide access to new developments around Joe Davis Stadium from all directions…
