Bail denied for suspects in deadly Huntsville gas station shootout

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Two Huntsville men charged with reckless murder in connection to a deadly shootout earlier this month will stay in jail until trial.

A Madison County judge has denied bail for Terryon Ellis Dewayne Gatewood, 20, and Daquavion DeShawn Malone, 21. They are accused of killing Vontrelle Moore following a fight at the Marathon gas station at 2880 Jordan Ln. on Aug. 2.

In his orders for both defendants, District Judge Alan Mann wrote they both pose a “significant threat to the community and potentially to the alleged victim in this case if released on pre-trial bond.”…
