First Alert for heat & humidity through the holiday weekend

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Good Wednesday afternoon. A Heat Advisory is in effect for all North Alabama and Middle Tennessee counties through Saturday evening for feels-like temperatures ranging from 100 to 107 degrees.

Today is another mainly sunny day with some passing fair weather clouds, high temperatures will reach the middle 90s. Skies remain clear overnight with calm conditions, morning lows will fall into the middle 70s by daybreak Thursday. Thursday and Friday are similar days with plenty of sunshine and more humidity, make sure you are staying hydrated and cool. The ridge of high pressure parked over the Southeast US will make rain chances very hard to come by the next few days, but each afternoon can bring a pop-up passing rain shower or storm.

Labor Day weekend will continue the stretch of hot and humid weather for Saturday through Monday. The long holiday weekend will be mostly dry with just isolated showers and storms expected. Confidence is any rainfall coverage remains low at this time, don’t cancel any outdoor plans and keep checking back for the latest on your Labor Day weekend forecast…
