DECATUR, Ala. — Two people are facing organized retail theft charges after police say Pokémon trading cards valued at about $629 were stolen from a Decatur GameStop, according to the Decatur Police Department.
Police say the theft happened in March 2026 at the GameStop located at 2812 Spring Ave. SW. Officers with the department’s General Investigation division assigned Detective Carr to the case.
During the investigation, police determined that two individuals, later identified as Anthony W. Bauer and Mercedes Nichols, entered the store and stole the trading cards. Investigators also found the pair were allegedly involved in similar thefts across multiple North Alabama counties…
