Alabama CHOOSE Act applications jump 33% as families turn from public schools

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Applications for Alabama’s CHOOSE Act saw a record 33% increase this year as more families turned away from public schools.

A record number of students applied for the CHOOSE Act in 2026, with 33% more parents seeking the option to either homeschool or send their children to private schools.
