HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Acting U.S. Attorney Catherine L. Crosby announced Tuesday that a Huntsville man was sentenced for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
Jack Deonte Chapman, 30, was sentenced to 46 months in prison after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm in November 2025. Chapman had prior felony convictions in the Circuit Court of Madison County for receiving stolen property and robbery.
According to the plea agreement, officers with the Huntsville Police Department were working on a Huntsville Housing Authority detail at Butler Terrace in October 2023 when they found Chapman sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked in an alley behind a home on Seminole Drive…
