The Ardmore Police Department serves both Alabama and Tennessee, requiring officers to navigate two states while protecting one community.
Police Chief Jereme Robison said many people don’t realize the agency operates across the state line.
“Most cities and towns operate under one mayor and one city council. Here we operate under two mayors and two city councils,” Robison said. “You have an Alabama mayor and Alabama council, and a Tennessee mayor and Tennessee council. The laws are different in both states.”…
