Fortune 500 company with thousands of Alabama workers secures $112 million submarine torpedo contract

On Thursday, the Pentagon announced that Science Applications International Corp., or SAIC, will work on its submarine-launched torpedoes for $112 million.

SIAC, a Fortune 500 company employing at least 2,700 people in Huntsville, will produce, supply spares for and repair components of the Navy’s MK 48 MOD 7 Heavyweight submarine torpedoes. The project is aimed for completion by April 2029.
