HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Severe thunderstorms that tracked through the Tennessee Valley on Friday left some damage behind.
The majority of the wind damage reports came out of Cullman County, though other counties across the area had a report or two of wind damage as well. The damage likely happened between noon and 2 p.m. Friday.
There were numerous reports of trees down. Some areas, specifically in Cullman County, had reports of multiple trees down. There was one report of a mobile home that lost its roof, and a barn that was destroyed near Baileyton. Damage to a separate mobile home was also noted in Baileyton.
The National Weather Service in Huntsville will be conducting a storm survey in Cullman County Saturday. They will survey the land near Holly Pond and Baileyton in regards to a possible tornado that occurred on Friday.
Flooding was also a concern. The Weather Authority Weather Watchers reported between 3-5.5-plus inches of rainfall over the last few days, and flooding in areas such as Scottsboro and New Hope.
