GREENFIELD, Ind. — A Lawrence Police officer was arrested in Greenfield after he was allegedly found driving under the influence of alcohol.
Stuart M. Bishop, 40, was charged with the following:
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person, a Class A Misdemeanor
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, a Class C Misdemeanor
On Saturday, June 20, at 11:33 p.m. an officer with the Greenfield Police Department was at the intersection of N State St and Muskegon Dr. The officer reportedly observed a Chevrolet Silverado fail to use its turn signal, cross all lanes of travel, drive on the right shoulder of the road, and failure to stop at a red light.
According to court documents, the officer initiated a traffic stop and found Bishop with glossy red eyes, slurred speech, and a strong smell of alcohol. Upon noticing a handgun, the officer asked the suspect to step out of the vehicle…
