INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The City of Indianapolis issued a rare Evacuation Immediate order early Saturday for residents in the north Broad Ripple and Rocky Ripple flood zones, citing rising river flooding in the area.
The National Weather Service in Indianapolis relayed the message from the city just before 2 AM, urging residents in the affected zones to leave immediately as crews prepared to close nearby flood gates.
