One to two of rain soaked central Indiana Saturday morning and many areas across the state have had as much as ten inches of rain this week. A Flood Watch remains in effect through Sunday morning as saturated ground and swollen waterways leave little room for additional rainfall. 18 counties are now under Travel Advisories or Travel Watches, including Marion and Hamilton counties, due to high water levels and standing water on roadways.
Indianapolis has already picked up 5.16 inches of rain this August, almost two inches above the normal monthly total of 3.20 inches. August now joins March and May as the only months this year with above average rainfall. Since June 1, Indianapolis has received 11.69 inches of rain.
