MERRILLVILLE, Ind. — NIPSCO released an updated timeline Thursday morning of when they expect power to be restored for the rest of Northwest Indiana.
Hundreds of thousands of residents were without power after a powerful storm system moved through “The Region” on Aug. 11. Frustrations have lingered as bigger communities, like Gary and Portage, still have thousands in the dark.
According to the utility company, approximately 62,800 people are still without power. Of those, according to NIPSCO’s charting, approximately 24,865 are in Gary. Gary accounts for roughly 40% of the area’s power outages…
